In a multi phase development effort, we have built a clinic block, staff house and are in the process of building and equipping a maternity ward. The Clinic offers key first line medical treatment and delivery services to the Olimai catchment area in Kumi district.
We offer and promote basic medical care services which include:
- Treatment of common diseases including fever, malaria, tuberculosis, gastroenteritis, parasite, respiratory diseases, infections and obstetrics.
- Essential maternal and childhood care.
- Provision of safe clean water use and improving nutrition.
- Education on HIV/AIDS and help for sexually transmitted infections.
- Sexual and reproductive health awareness and family planning.
- Improvements in standards of personal hygiene and lifestyle.
- Basic education seminars.
- An effective program for polio, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis and
- Life-saving and first aid skills to the people in the village.
People who have been brought up well will most likely live a productive or constructive life, love to work to earn a living, are not permanently dependent, respect each other and are happy, and will surely bring up their children well. That family will no doubt grow and and will be known for ever, far and wide. Liken it to a seed planted on fertile soil, it will yeald healthy fruits. Olimai Community Development Effort is hopefully such a seed. We have started with a small health centre, our plan is to grow it to a small hospital able to handle most of our common health cases here.
